If so, tell them about the 2019 Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. Rock Energy Cooperative will sponsor up to four high school juniors on the June 14-21 trip.

They will join about 1,600 students from co-ops across the nation as they meet with congressional representatives, tour historic sites, and learn about the cooperative business model.

Applicants must be children of Rock Energy members and reside in the co-op’s service territory.

The all-expense-paid trip includes transportation, lodging, meals, and admission fees to all events. Round-trip travel is by motor coach from Springfield, Ill. Travel to Springfield is not included.

Representing Rock Energy during the 2018 trip were Brooke Gardner and Amanda Stevens of Rockton; Emily Larson, Rachel Strasser, and Stephanie Wright of South Beloit; and Emily Suiter of Milton. Click here to read about their experience.

Two elements have been added to the application process this year. Students are required to submit a short video introducing themselves in a creative manner. Two letters of recommendation also must be submitted.
