Ice, wind cause widespread outages
Ice combined with wind have caused widespread outages throughout Rock Energy’s service territory.
The first outages were reported about 10 p.m. Friday. At its peak, about 1,500 members were without power. By 9 a.m. this morning, power was restored to all but 400 members.
All Rock Energy crews worked throughout the night, and ROPE (Restoration of Power in an Emergency) was activated. ROPE is a program of co-ops helping co-ops, and line workers from other co-ops are on their way to assist.
More outages are anticipated as heavy snow is forecast for later today. Click here to view the outage map.
Rock Energy thanks members for their patience and understanding.
